Belinda Liew



Music has played an integral part in Belinda’s life since being captivated by Beethoven’s sixth symphony at the age of four. Her love of music has since been nurtured through years of lessons in piano, cello and choral singing.

Since attaining her AMusA on piano in 2006, cello became Belinda's primary musical focus. In 2011 She graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Diploma of Music Performance and Bachelor of Commerce. During this time she studied cello under Rachel Atkinson, and also performed in Masterclasses for Georg Pedersen, Pei-Sian Ng, Howard Penny and Evangeline Benedetti.

Belinda is an active cellist in orchestras such as the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra and the Australian Discovery Orchestra. Belinda is one of the founding members of the Daphnis Trio who perform frequently across Victoria. The Daphnis Trio regularly collaborates with contemporary Australian composers and have premiered the works of talented young composers in venues including the Arts Centre Melbourne. She has also performed regularly as principal cellist with orchestras including the Australian & Asian Orchestra and Hopkins Sinfonia.

Belinda is currently studying cello under the tutelage of MSO principal cellist, David Berlin. She currently holds the position of Personal Assistant to the CEO of Southgate Financial Services. She enjoys a diverse interest in performing arts that range from stand-up comedy to ballet.
