About the Event
A legacy honoured, reimagined and reinterpreted.
It’s Beethoven, but not as you know it. Ludwig van Beethoven was a historical behemoth whose influence on Western musical culture has lasted centuries. In 2020 we celebrate his legacy and shine a light into his shadow. This is Beethoven as honoured, reimagined and reinterpreted in the words and music of those that knew him and those who think they do.
Honoured by Schubert and his student Ferdinand Ries. Reimagined by Borodin and John Adams. Reinterpreted by contemporary composers for the twenty-first century.
Partridge String Quartet join Ensemble Goldentree for this concert marking the composer’s 250th anniversary and our inaugural Medley Hall concert season.
