A warm, dimly lit drawing room, a piano, friends and colleagues gathered close by. A rotating roster of musicians, artists and poets. In this setting some of the most beautiful chamber music was first written, experimented with and performed.
The intimacy of each breath, each emotion wrought real in close quarters.
Step back in time and experience chamber music as it was meant to be heard through three trios, including Brahms’ monumental Horn Trio and one of Schubert’s final works, Der Hirt auf dem Felsen (‘Shepherd on the Rock’), enhanced with poetry.
BRAHMS - Horn Trio, Op. 40
SCHUBERT - Der Hirt auf dem Felsen (‘Shepherd on the Rock’), D. 965
Alison McIntosh-Deszcz (soprano)
Tim Hannah (horn)
Rennata Morrison (violin)
